Aberglasney Gardens will this week feature in a dedicated hour-length episode of the new Channel 5 series ‘Great British Gardens’ presented by Carol Klein.
The series, which starts with the Aberglasney Gardens episode on Thursday, November 11, follows Carol Klein as she visits a variety of beautiful gardens from across the UK and gets to know the people who nurture and look after them.
During Thursday’s episode Carol will meet Aberglasney Gardens’ Head Gardener, Joseph Atkin. Whilst exploring the Gardens she will discover the many different wet-loving plants that thrive in our Welsh climate.
Aberglasney Gardens’ Head Gardener, Joseph Atkin said, “The filming took place over 12 months so viewers will be able to see how the Gardens change with the seasons. Of particular interest will be the opportunity for everyone to see the spring season of last year when we had to close our gates to visitors due to lockdown. It will be a treat for everyone to see how beautiful the Gardens looked at that time.”
Each episode of the series explores one inspiring garden: from the mysterious Aberglasney to the generous swathes of tall grasses and perennials of the beautiful garden and nursery of Graham and Lucy Gough at Marchants.
As well as meeting the people who care for the gardens Carol will also share her extensive knowledge and learns the secrets of some of Britain’s most treasured outdoor spaces.
Great British Gardens is on Channel 5 this Thursday, November 11 at 7pm.
