Ammanford creators will be going into overdrive this Spring as the town creates a commemorative mosaic which will be installed on a wall at The Old Cross Inn, Quay Street.
The event is being organised by the Ammanford Lions Club after they received a lottery grant in 2020 to create the mosaic in celebration of their 50th anniversary. But sadly the pandemic brought their celebrations to an abrupt end.
Two years on, and things are firmly back on track. The event is being led by renowned mosaic artist Dani Lee who will be meeting everyone interested on April 26 between 1pm and 3.30pm to discuss ideas and how best to design the chosen subject.
A series of workshops will then take place on May 10, 20, 24 and 25 and again on June 1 and 7. Each workshop will be from 10am to 4pm and all are free of charge. No experience is necessary and all the relevant tools and materials will be supplied.
Booking is essential as the number of people attending each workshop is limited.
Advance bookings can be made by emailing ammanfordlions@hotmail.com or phoning 07969 036032.
The Ammanford Lions Club is the only service organisation in Ammanford and gives 100 per cent of its fundraising to worthy causes.
All the workshops will all take place in Gellimanwydd Hall, Ammanford.
