For half a century, Paul and Adrian Gregory’s stage performances and song writing skills have earned the Amman Valley brothers a reputation as two of Wales’ top performers.
And this week the Brodyr Gregory – The Gregory Brothers- will be taking to the stage once again at the Ammanford Miners Theatre to perform a celebratory evening marking 50 years in show business.
Throughout the 1970s and ‘80s the brothers toured the length and breadth of Wales performing alongside some of the UK’s greatest names including Billy Connolly, Bradley Walsh and Dick Emery.
Their love of Wales and the Welsh language earned them a recording contract with the north Wales recording company, Sain, which subsequently led to several S4C television series throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Perhaps the most popular of these was the iconic Welsh equivalent of Candi Camera, entitled ‘ Y Brodyr Bach’ (The Little Brothers).
The Brodyr Gregory will be appearing at the Ammanford Miners Theatre this Thursday, May 5 with a question and answer session conducted through the medium of Welsh by Phil Harries and Ieuan Rhys.
They will also be performing a selection of their songs.
