It has been confirmed that a man has sustained brain injuries following the attack outside the Met Bar, Llanelli, which took place last Sunday morning.
Earlier this week, the South Wales Guardian reported that a man had sustained major injuries following the assault.
However a police statment has now confirmed that he sustained a bleed to his brain and bruising.
The man, who has not been named by police, was assaulted and knocked to the floor.
As a result of his injuries, he was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff where he is receiving specialist care from the neurological team for a bleed to his brain and bruising.
The attack took place at around 3am on Sunday, May 8, outside the Met Bar which is situated at the end of Station Road.
Meanwhile police are appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage or from witnesses who observed the event.
“We’re appealing for information concerning this assault that left a man needing hospital treatment,” commented a police spokesperson.
