A 21-year-old woman has made her first appearance in the crown court charged with the murder of Bernard Jason Evans in Ammanford.
Mr Evans, 41, died from a stab wound after an incident at his home in Pantyffynnon Road on January 22.
Maxine Violet Williams, the daughter of Mr Evans' partner, is currently on remand at Eastwood Park women's prison near Bristol, charged with his murder.
Yesterday (Tuesday) she was connected to number two court at Swansea crown court for a hearing before Judge John Diehl, the Recorder of Swansea.
Geraint Walters, prosecuting, informed Judge Diehl as to the progress in the case.
Police have already taken 50 statements from potential witnesses but 10 more are still to be interviewed.
Various forensic tests are also being carried out, he said.
Miss Williams, of Gwscwm Road, Pembrey, was not asked to speak apart to confirm her name.
Judge Diehl laid down a timetable by which dates the prosecution must have completed certain stages to enable a trial to take place as soon as possible.
The next hearing will be on April 18 when Williams will be asked to enter a plea. The judge is expected then to fix a trial date.
She was remanded in custody in the meantime.
