It was a name that local music lovers were counting down to seeing.
But this weekend it was confirmed that Elvis Costello has had to cancel his gig in Swansea.
The music icon was scheduled to perform in Swansea Arena tomorrow night (Monday, June 20).
But this weekend, fans learned he had been forced to cancel the show as the result of a band member's illness. This was later confirmed as The Imposters drummer, Pete Thomas.
Now, all the Costello fans who have forked out £50 for a ticket must wait patiently to see the multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, who has yet to confirm a rescheduled date.
The Imposters tour kicked off in Brighton on June 5.
“It is hoped that the greatest rock and roll drummer in the world will return to the stage later this week, as soon as he is recovered,” reads a comment on Elvis Costello’s Facebook page.
“Stand by for action.”
