This is the best news that local kids are likely to get during the countdown to their summer holidays – Lottie the Otter is coming to the Llanelli Wetland Centre!
And what makes the news even greater is the fact that Lottie will be joined by 14 other characters as part of a giant Lego trail that will be homing in on the Centre throughout the summer holidays.
The UK’s only Lego Brick Wetland Safari means that families can now use their investigative skills to spot Lego animals and real animals alike.

Some of the characters are 12 times the size of the actual animal and will include two new characters who have never previously been seen in public. These are Percy the Pelican and Camille the Curlew who will be joining past favourites including Katie the Kingfisher, Lottie the Otter, Fred the Frog, Flavia the Flamingo and Sam the Short-eared Owl.
The Lego Brick Wetland Safari will run from Saturday, July, 16 to Sunday, September, 4 and there will be trail maps available to help guide visitors around the course.
“We know from our previous Lego events that people of all ages love to see these giant models out amongst the real animals,” commented Llanelli Wetland Centre manager Jo Jones.
"The safari is a fun way to highlight some of the wetland species that the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) has been working so hard to save.”
These include the iconic Hawaiian goose and the incredible spoon-billed sandpiper.
The trial is included in the admission fees to the centre and the centre is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm, with the last entry at 4pm.
