A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after yesterday’s alleged assault in Ammanford.
Andrew Sackett, aged 43, from Pontypridd, was arrested after the alleged assault which occurred on Penybanc Road in the early hours of Monday, August 1.
The incident resulted in a man being taken to Morriston Hospital by ambulance with “serious injuries.
Following his arrest on suspicion of assault and criminal damage, Sackett was taken to custody where he was then charged with grievous bodily harm.
He appeared at Llanelli Magistrates this morning (Tuesday, August 2).
The magistrates then sent the case to Swansea Crown Court, for a trial and a plea on Tuesday, August 30.

On the day of the alleged assault, a police spokesperson said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating an assault which occurred at a property in Penybanc Road, Ammanford in the early hours of Monday morning, 1st August 2022.
"A man has been taken to hospital with what are described as serious injuries.
"A section of the street was cordoned off while forensic examinations are conducted.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at approximately 2.20am on Monday, August 1, to an incident on Penybanc Road in Ammanford.
“We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene, and one person was taken to Morriston Hospital.”
