Ammanford celebrity Alex Jones celebrated her daughter’s first birthday in style this week after sharing photographs of their special day on Instagram Stories.

Together with her New Zealander husband Charlie Thomson and their three young children Teddy, Kit and little Annie who was one on Sunday, the family chose to celebrate with a train ride on a steam train around Devon.

The TV presenter has been enjoying a summer break with her children after bidding farewell to The One Show's audience in July. She is scheduled to return at the end of August.

Her break from the show was announced just days after Alex, 45, openly admitted that ‘things have been a bit tricky’ for her and her family.

She posted a painting of a lemon on Instagram with the caption: "Things have been a bit tricky for us recently and in all honesty, I haven’t had time to be on here between working and the children but I randomly logged on and saw all your lovely messages gently asking if we were all ok.

"I was touched by your kindness and so I just wanted to check in and say thank you, and that even though life has been a bit challenging, we are ok and still managing to enjoy the beginning of the holidays and there's still plenty to smile about! (I'll pop some stuff on my stories) #whenlifegivesyoulemons #thekindnessofstrangers."

Earlier this summer the family enjoyed another break in Greece.
