AN Amman Valley man was given a suspended sentence for possession of a bladed article.
Lazlo Landek, 32, of Arfryn, Upper Brynamman, was handed a suspended prison sentence by Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 6 after admitting possession of a bladed article in public.
He admitted that on August 28, he was carrying a Stanley knife on Vaughan Street in Llanelli and was given an 18-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.
MORE NEWS:
The court believed a prison sentence was necessary due to the serious nature of the offence and the attempt by the defendant to conceal the blade.
It was suspended due to the ‘real prospect of rehabilitation’ and the fact that the defendant is due to start full-time employment.
He was also given a rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to pay £154 surcharge and £85 costs.
The Stanley knife was destroyed.
