A Llandeilo business has been named as one of the 100 most inspiring small firms in the UK.
Diod, on Rhosmaen Street, has been selected as one of the nation’s 100 most inspiring small firms by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign.
Diod is a Welsh-style coffee and wine shop serving great coffee, cakes and light lunches. It was founded by husband-and-wife team Lisa and Aled Jones in 2021.
It has been chosen to be part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up, which showcases impressive, independent businesses from across the nation.
“We are delighted to be named as one of this years’ SmallBiz100, which celebrates the importance of small businesses across the UK," said a spokesperson from Diod.
"Small Businesses are vital for towns such as Llandeilo and we are so pleased to be part of the business community within our town.
"We hope that as many small businesses as possible get involved in the campaign on December 3.”
Diod will be profiled by the campaign on September 5 as part of the 100-day countdown to Small Business Saturday UK.

“It’s fantastic to celebrate small firms just like Diod as part of our 10-year anniversary of the campaign,” said Michelle Ovens CBE, director of Small Business Saturday UK.
“Over the past decade we have been able to spotlight dynamic businesses from across the nation, who remind us of the incredible tenacity and determination of small firms in this country.
“It’s brilliant to have Diod in this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up.”
A grassroots not-for-profit campaign, Small Business Saturday first came to the UK in 2013, and has since grown into an iconic campaign, celebrating small business success and encouraging consumers to 'shop local' and support businesses in their communities.
On Small Business Saturday, customers across the UK go out and support all types of small businesses, from independent shops and restaurants to small service-based businesses like accountants and digital marketeers.
Last year the Prime Minister, leader of the opposition and the Mayor of London were among those publicly supporting the campaign, along with over 90 per cent of local councils.
