A NUMBER of drivers from the region have been in court recently on speeding charges.
Christopher John Barratt, 39, of Min y Rhos, Ystradgynlais, was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on September 16.
He was caught on April 1 doing 37mph on A4109 Main Road/New Road, Aberdulais, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Genevieve Haines, 26, of Half Acre Court, Caerphilly, was found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 21.
She was caught on March 18 doing 79mph on A48 Cross Hands where the limit is 70mph. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Jordan Toomey, 29, of Alma Street, Twynyrodyn, was found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 21.
He was caught on March 18 doing 79mph on A48 Cross Hands where the limit is 70mph. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Anthony Richard Winter, 36, of Blaenau Road, Llandybie, was found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 21.
He was caught on March 17 doing 36mph on A483 Llandeilo Road, Llandybie, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Jane Marie Brown, 50, of Waterloo Road, Penygroes, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 22.
She was caught on March 19 doing 35mph on Black Lion Road, Gorslas, where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £66 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge.

She was caught on March 20 doing 38mph on Hendre Road, Llangennech, where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £123 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Julia Felicity Winson, 31, of Swansea Road, Pontardawe, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 26.
She was caught on March 22 doing 83mph on the M4 at J48 Pont Abraham, where the limit is 70mph. She was fined £40 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Margaret Dana Evans, 75, of Pentwyn, Three Crosses, was found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court.
She was caught on March 18 doing 79mph on the A48, Cross Hands, where the limit is 70mph. She was fined £66 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge.
