A NUMBER of people from the region have recently appeared in court on speeding charges.
Lucy Jane Wiley, 50, of Penygarn Road, Ammanford, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on October 10.
She was caught on April 1 doing 35mph on Hendre Road in Llangennech, where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £76 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Jemma Louise Heath, 31, of North Bank, Llandeilo, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on October 14.
She was caught on April 2 doing 39mph on A476 Carmel where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £40, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
James Varney, 37, of Maes Gareth Edwards, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 12.
He was caught on May 1 doing 36mph on Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £84, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Mark John Jeffrey, 55, of Pen y Bryn, Ystradgynlais, was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 13.
He was caught on May 20 doing 47mph on Graig Newydd, Godre’r Graig, where the limit is 40mph. He was fined £220, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Amanda Jayne Pennock, 54, of Francis Street, Pontardawe, was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 13.
She was caught on May 3 doing 37mph on Llantwit Road, Wick, where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £220, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Jessica Jane Williams, 34, of Brecon Road, Ystradgynlais, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 14.
She was caught on May 20 doing 42mph on A4109 Main Road/New Road, Aberdulais, where the limit is 40mph. She was fined £66, given four points on her licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge.
