A NUMBER of people from the region were in court recently on non-speeding motoring offences.

David Thomas, 34, of Ross Avenue, Carmarthen, admitted a charge of drug driving at Llanelli Magistrates Court on October 11.

He was caught on March 18 on the A48 Cross Hands where he was found to have been driving with 750 µg/L of Benzoylecgonine in his blood. He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

Christopher Richard Harding, 27, of Pen y Bryn, Ystradgynlais, was found guilty of driving without insurance by Llanelli Magistrates Court on October 12.

He was caught on March 21 driving a Honda Cbr 125 on Brecon Road, Ystradgynlais, without an insurance policy in force to cover his use of the vehicle. He was fined £660, banned from driving for eight months and ordered to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.

Tomos Rhodri Rees, 33, of Bonllwyn, Ammanford, was found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving by Llanelli Magistrates Court on October 13.

He was caught using his mobile phone on May 18 while driving a Land Rover Defender First Edition on the M4 Pont Abraham Roundabout.

He was fined £220, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Jacob Ivor Morse, 22, of Brecon Road, Llandovery, admitted driving with an expired licence at Llanelli Magistrates Court on October 14.

He was caught on March 25 driving a Nissan Micra Celebration on B4300 Capel Dewi, Carmarthen, which was otherwise than in accordance with a licence as his substantive licence had expired on February 16.

He was fined £66 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge.

Simon Anthony James, 33, of Tanydarren, Cilmaengwyn, Pontardawe, was found guilty of driving without insurance by Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 13.

He was caught on July 7 driving a Nissan G-TR on Tanydarren without a relevant insurance policy in place. He was fined £660, given six points on his driving licence and ordered to pay £264 surcharge and £90 costs.

He received no separate penalty for a charge of the licence plates on the vehicle being incorrect – which the court also found him guilty of.

Simon Westley James, 44, of Golwg Y Capel, Tycroes, Ammanford, was found guilty of driving without wearing a seatbelt by Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 13.

He was caught on April 6 driving on Swansea Road/Llangyfelach Road in a DAF truck while not wearing a seatbelt.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Nicola Ann Williams, 46, of Alltywerin, Pontardawe, was found guilty of failing to provide information relating by Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 14.

She committed the offence on June 24 when she failed to provide information relating to the identity of the driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in an offence when requested by South Wales Police.

She was fined £660, given six points on her licence and ordered to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.
