A four-day road closure in Llandovery has started today (Wednesday, October 26) which will remain until the weekend.

The area closed will be Heol Rhos, from a point 420m north-west of its junction with the A40, for a distance of 150m in a north-westerly direction.

Carmarthenshire County Council said that the four-day closure will last from Wednesday, October 26 to Saturday, October 29, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as Amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions Act) 1991.

County Hall added that the closure is in place to keep members of the public safe while BT engineers have safe access to overhead structures.

A spokesperson from Carmarthenshire County Council said: "Pedestrian movement to individual properties will be maintained where possible throughout the duration of the closure.

“The alternative route for north-west bound traffic will be to proceed in a south-easterly direction along Heol Rhos to its junction with the A40.

“At the junction, turn left and continue in a northerly direction along the A40, to its junction with the C2157.

“At the junction, turn left and continue in a northerly direction along the C2157, passing RJ Fukes Forestry Servies, to its junction with the C2156.

“At the junction, turn left and continue in a north-westerly direction along the C2156, to its junction with the C2158.

“At the junction turn left and continue in a south-westerly direction to its junction with Heol Rhos.

“At the junction, turn left and continue in a south-easterly direction to return to a point north-west of the closure. Vice versa for south-east bound traffic.”
