A NUMBER of people have been in court for speeding in the Amman Valley.
Lee John Byrne, 33, of Cwmgarw Road, Upper Brynamman, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 16.
He was caught on October 30 doing 37mph in a BMW Sport Estate outside St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Pontardawe Road, Clydach, where the limit is 20mph.
He was fined £80, given five points on his licence and ordered to pay £32 surcharge and £90 costs.
Katrina Phelps, 60, of Parc Nant y Felin, Ammanford, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 20.
She was caught on July 13 doing 26mph in a Toyota Yaris on the B4296 Grovesend where the limit is 20mph.
She was fined £146, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £58 surcharge and £90 costs.
Phelps was also found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 30.
She was caught on June 10 doing 35mph in a Toyota Yaris on the A483 Bronllwyn-Ammanford road where the limit is 30mph.
She was fined £220, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Michelle Elizabeth Beynon, 60, of Buckingham Road, Bonymaen, Swansea, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 20.
She was caught on June 1 doing 37mph in a Toyota Yaris on the A483 Talardd Villas, near Ffairfach, Llandeilo, where the limit is 30mph.
She was fined £84, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
Amanda Jayne Hill, 51, of Tabernacle Road, Glanaman, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 20.
She was caught on May 31 doing 57mph in a Vauxhall Insignia on Cwmgwili Cross Hands where the limit is 30mph.
She was fined £507, given six points on her licence and ordered to pay £50 surcharge and £90 costs.

She was caught on June 1 doing 38mph in a Ford Fiesta on the A483 Talardd Villas near Ffairfach, Llandeilo, where the limit is 30mph.
She was fined £220, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

He was fined £440, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £44 surcharge and £90 costs.
