A MAN from Llandeilo has been jailed after being caught driving whilst disqualified.
Jason Henderson, 50, of Rhosmaen, Llandeilo, admitted two driving offences at Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 15. He appeared at the court again for sentence on January 5.
He admitted one count of driving without insurance and one of driving whilst disqualified. He also admitted committing an offence during a suspended sentence operation order.
Both counts related to him being caught on November 8 driving a black VW Golf on Maerdy Road, Ammanford when he was banned from driving, and also did not have an insurance policy in place to cover his use of the vehicle.
On April 9, 2021, he was given a 26-week prison sentence which was suspended for two years for being the driver of a vehicle who failed to stop after a road accident which caused injury to another man. The incident took place on July 6, 2020.
The court chose to not provide further punishment for committing the offence during the suspended sentence and just activated the sentence.
He was jailed for 26 weeks because the offences were committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence. He was banned from driving for 28 months and ordered to pay £85 costs.
