A LLANDOVERY man admitted attempting to engage a nine-year-old child in sexual activity.

Jack Jones, 22, who is currently in custody at HMP Parc Prison in Bridgend, appeared at Swansea Crown Court on January 20 where he admitted 12 charges relating to activity with children.

He admitted a charge of inciting a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity in terms of requesting indecent photographs between March 1, 2020, and March 25, 2020. The victim was just nine years old.

He also admitted a charge of engaging in sexual communication with a child under the age of 16 that is alleged to have happened between the same dates.

He admitted engaging in sexual communication with a second child under the age of 16 on April 15, 2020.

He faces a charge of making an indecent image of a child relating to two category C images between February 1, 2020, and March 30, 2020. He also faces a charge relating to two category A movie clips and one category A image of a child between the same dates. He admits both charges.

He also admitted a charge of making an 11-year-old child look at an image of a person engaging in sexual activity on April 17, 2019.

He faces another charge of engaging in sexual communication with a third child under the age of 16, which is alleged to have taken place on April 17, 2019.

He also faces a charge for inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity which is alleged to have taken place on April 17, 2019.

Jones faces a charge of inciting a child under the age of 14 to engage in sexual activity on April 15, 2020.

Another charge faced by Jones is of attempting to engage a child under the age of 16 into sexual activity which is alleged to have taken place between March 27, 2020, and April 16, 2020.

The final charge he faces is another count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between March 27, 2020, and April 16, 2020.

He also admitted a charge of causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity and a charge of causing or inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity. These offences were committed between April 26 and September 13, 2022, and August 27, 2022, respectively.

He admitted all the above charges.

He denied the 13th charge of distributing two indecent images of children of category C.

Her Honour Judge Catherine Richards adjourned the case to allow the prosecution time to consider if their plan to bring Jones to trial for the 13th charge is in the public interest and for a pre-sentence report to be created.
