A NUMBER of people from the Amman, Swansea and Tywi Valleys have recently appeared in court charged with various motoring offences.
Nigel Davies, 56, of Heol Las, Ammanford, was fined for failing to comply with an off-road notification by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 13.
On August 1, he kept or used an unlicenced vehicle on Carregamman Isaf, Ammanford, despite a statutory off-road notification (SORN) being in force at the time. The previous licence on the vehicle had expired on February 28.
He was fined £440 and had to pay back duty of £119.59 and £140 costs.
Jolene Moses, 42, of Lynden, Gurnos, Ystradgynlais, was found guilty of driving a vehicle with the ply or cord exposed by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 20.
She was caught driving a Peugeot 107 on July 4 on Gurnos Road when the car’s front offside tyre wheel was fitted with a pneumatic tyre which had the ply or cord exposed.
She was fined £440, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £352 surcharge and £90 costs.
She was fined a further £440 after being found guilty of having the tyre treads of the front nearside tyre not at the correct depth of 1.6mm.

Mohammed Sabri, 26, of St Teilo Street, Pontarddulais, admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence at Cardiff Magistrates Court on January 16.
He admitted that on December 7, he drove a Nissan Micra on the A4230 New Road, Skewen, otherwise than in accordance with a licence authorising him to drive a motor vehicle of that class.
He was fined £40, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £16 surcharge and £90 costs.
Dale Bransom Barnes, 56, of Cysgod y Fro, Rhydyfro, Pontardawe, was found guilty of driving a vehicle which had no test certificate by Cardiff Magistrates Court on January 19.
He committed the offence on October 10 when he drove a Dacia Logan on Cysgod y Fro and there was no valid test certificate in place for the period of time.
He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £88 surcharge and £90 costs.
Kristian Jones, 36, of Graig Road, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, was found guilty of driving without a seatbelt by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 10.
He was caught on June 22 driving an Iveco Lorry on Nantgaredig without wearing a seatbelt.
He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £88 surcharge and £90 costs.
