THREE men have appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court recently for offences committed in Ammanford.

The men faced charges of harassment, assault by beating, possession of cannabis and criminal damage. 

Here's a round-up of their cases. 

DARYL STEPHENS, 31, of no fixed abode, damaged a cell at Ammanford Police Station after being caught with cannabis.

Stephens was in possession of 3.5 grams of cannabis in Llanelli on March 30.

He was arrested, and taken to Ammanford Police Station.

While in custody, Stephens caused £140-worth of damage to his cell.

He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and criminal damage at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 31.

He was fined £80, and was ordered to pay £85 costs and £140 to Dyfed-Powys Police in compensation.

Stephens was made the subject of a one-year community order, and must complete up to 15 days rehabilitation activity requirement.

The Magistrate ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the cannabis and the grinder.

LUKE TOMS, 36, of Fforestfach in Ammanford, has been found guilty of assaulting another man.

Toms was accused of attacking Kevin Williams on November 27 last year in Ammanford.

He pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault by beating, but was found guilty on Monday, March 27 at Llanelli Magistrates' Court.

He was ordered to pay a £576 fine, £520 in costs, a £230 surcharge, and £100 compensation.

ARWEL GODFREY, 41, of Heol Hathren in Cwmann, Lampeter, was fined for harassment.

Godfrey breached a restraining order after attending an address on Pantyffynon Road in Ammanford on March 26.

The restraining order had only been imposed in November last year.

He pleaded guilty, and was sentenced at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Monday, March 27.

Godfrey was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs.
