A LLANDOVERY man who admitted several child sex offences will be sentenced next week after a delay due to concerns over his mental state.
Jack Jones, 22, admitted 12 charges relating to activity with children at Swansea Crown Court on January 20.
He was due to be sentenced on Monday, April 17.
A psychiatric report had been ordered after concerns were raised about Jones, however, although the report had been completed, Jones’ defence barrister said they did not yet have a copy of it.
Judge Catherine Richards said Jones was “facing a lengthy term in prison”, and information in the medical report could “assist the court” in sentencing him.
Jones has admitted:
- Inciting a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity in terms of requesting indecent photographs between March 1, 2020, and March 25, 2020. The victim was just nine years old.
- Engaging in sexual communication with a second child under the age of 16 on April 15, 2020.
- Making an indecent image of a child relating to two Category C images between February 1, 2020, and March 30, 2020.
- Making an indecent image of a child relating to two category A movie clips and one Category A image of a child between February 1, 2020, and March 30, 2020.
- Making an 11-year-old child look at an image of a person engaging in sexual activity on April 17, 2019.
- Engaging in sexual communication with a third child under the age of 16, which is alleged to have taken place on April 17, 2019.
- Inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, which is alleged to have taken place on April 17, 2019.
- Inciting a child under the age of 14 to engage in sexual activity on April 15, 2020.
- Attempting to engage a child under the age of 16 into sexual activity, which is alleged to have taken place between March 27, 2020, and April 16, 2020.
- Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child between March 27, 2020, and April 16, 2020.
- Causing or inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity between April 26 and September 13, 2022.
- Causing or inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity between April 26 and August 27, 2022.
He will be sentenced on Monday, April 24.
