A top Tywi Valley attraction is in the running for a top award from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
Aberglasney Gardens is in the running to be named RHS’ Feel Good Garden and the winner will be named RHS Partner Garden of the Year.
The winners are chosen by the public who vote for their favourite gardens in each of the six regions: Midlands and East Anglia, North and Northern Ireland, Overseas, Scotland, South-East and Channel Islands, the South West and Wales.
Aberglasney’s director of operations, Jim Stribling, said: “We know our visitors and members already appreciate a visit to Aberglasney makes them feel good, but it would be fantastic to win this prestigious title of top ‘Feel Good Garden’.
"We hope we can rely on everyone to vote for us and please leave a comment saying why a visit to the Gardens improves your health and well being, as that is like an extra vote.”
Voters don’t need to be a member of the RHS and can vote at https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/partner-gardens/rhs-partner-garden-of-the-year until September 29.
All voters will also be entered into a prize draw for tickets to the 2024 RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival with a two-night stay close by.
RHS Partner Garden manager Helen Feary said: “The RHS Partner Garden of the Year competition is growing from strength to strength and we’re delighted that nearly twice as many votes were cast in 2022 as in 2021.
"It’s heart-warming to read so many wonderful comments about how good a visit to the garden makes people feel.
"With so many gardens taking part and encouraging their visitors to vote, it should be easier than ever for people to show their appreciation for their favourite garden.”
The gardens will be ranked according to the number of votes they receive relative to their 2022 visitor numbers and comments from voters.
There will be a winner from each region and an overall winner. Winners will be revealed in December and will win a plaque to display and a professional garden photo-shoot.
