Ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, we take a look at some of the events taking place locally to celebrate the occasion.
Ammanford
Amman United Rugby Club will be holding coronation celebrations at the club this Saturday, May 6 in the form of a family day. Entry is free. Among the attractions will be a bouncy castle, party games and a disco, plus a barbecue (payable). All the fun starts at 12.30pm!
Brynamman
The Black Mountain Centre will be hosting a coronation fun day on Sunday, May 7 from 1pm to 6pm. It is free entry and guests can bring their own food and drink. There will be a tabletop sale, children’s activities and live music from Monkey Butlers.
Blaenau
There will be a special celebration for the Coronation of Charles III in Caerbryn Hall with a Coronation Tea Party at 3pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 8. All villagers of Blaenau and Caerbryn are welcome. Come in your red, white and blue finery!
Cwmamman
On Sunday, May 7, Caffi y Pafiliwn at the bowls green will be reopening with a community picnic afternoon, hosted by Cwmamman Town Council in celebration of the coronation of King Charles III, and the reopening of the cafe.
An event for all the family, including a range of exciting activities and attractions at Cwmamman Park, between 2pm and 5pm will include music, crafts, games and a bouncy castle. Every child under 11 will also receive a free packed lunch. Admission is free.
Cwmgors
The Guardsman Pub in Cwmgors will be showing the coronation live on the big screen on Saturday, May 6 and will have an afternoon tea.
Ffairfach
There will be a street market in Ffairfach, Llandeilo over the bank holiday weekend of May 6-8. It will take place at the Tregeyb Arms from 1pm and will have food, stalls, live music, facepainting, an outdoor bar, BBQ and doughnuts.
Llandeilo
The Lounge Eatery will be hosting a coronation celebration on Sunday, May 7 with a royal themed fancy dress competition, face painting, live music and an afternoon tea. Entry is free and the fun starts at 1pm and runs until 4pm.
Llandovery
Castle Hotel will be hosting a watch party for the coronation on Saturday, May 6. Attendees will be able to watch the coronation on the big screen and there will be free face painting and fun fair rides. A finger buffet will also be available at a cost of £6.95.
