TWO men from the Amman Valley and two teenagers have been charged in connection with the assault of a 12-year-old boy in a park near a rugby club.
South Wales Police said the alleged incident took place at Parc-Y-Weirn near Cwmgors Rugby Club at around 6pm on Sunday, January 29.
Four people – including two teenagers – were arrested in connection with the assault.
South Wales Police have confirmed that Nathan Nordhoff, 36, from Gwaun Cae Gurwen, has now been charged with two counts of assault and making threats to kill.
Another man, 29-year-old David Williams, from Tairgwaith, has been charged with assault.
They will both appear at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on July 5.
Two boys, aged 13 and 16, have been charged with assault and will appear before Swansea Magistrates’ Court on June 28.
At the time of the offence, neighbourhood inspector at South Wales Police Lindsey Sweeney said: “This apparently unprovoked attack has left a 12-year-old boy in a state of shock.”
