A local pub has been praised for 'putting Carmarthenshire on the map'.
The Mansel Arms, between the villages of Drefach and Porthyrhyd was named as one of the top pubs of the year in the UK in September 2019.
It made the shortlist of Pub of the Year alongside 15 others, but was the only one in Wales to be listed, meaning it was the best pub in Wales at the time.
The pub has a ‘cask ale committee’ which travels around to find the best ales that different breweries have on offer. This has led to the pub regularly hosting these ales, with hundreds of different varieties in the past year.
On a recent visit Carmarthen East & Dinefwr MS Adam Price said: “It’s fantastic to see people like Glynn and Gemma [the owners], people with such passion and desire, owning a place like the Mansel.
“I mean, the awards they’ve won are incredible, it’s testament to the hard work and graft that they’ve put in since taking over.
“The Mansel Arms, and many others like it, play a key role in keeping our rural communities alive.
"It was great to have a discussion with the committee on potential future opportunities, as well as the upcoming challenges facing the sector.”
