A NEW theatre performance will take place in Ammanford later this month!
The Ammanford Community Theatre will be hosting its 10th full-length production in June and they can’t wait for people to see it.
The play is called Disorganised Crime and was written by Dave Jenkins. It follows the story of Iwan Evans, who managed to walk away from the London mob and return home to Wales.
He was having a birthday party when an unwelcome guest turns up, and leads to the discovery that the London mob are planning to take over Ammanford.
This leads to Iwan concocting a plan where his friends and family pretend to be a mafia family working in Ammanford, with fake kidnaps and intimidation with Ammanford locals haphazardly doing their best to appear part of the mob to trick the cockney gangster.
Dave said: “I’m so proud of this cast and crew, who are putting in so many hours rehearsing, learning lines, building the set and obtaining a vast array of peculiar props for the enjoyment of ourselves and the audiences we hope will be coming to see us!
“This is going to be a great fun night out at the theatre!
“It's like a combination of Goodfellas, The Godfather, Dad's Army and Only Fools and Horses!
“This time, I wanted to produce a workplace comedy and the work just so happens to be in the world of organised crime, well Disorganised Crime in this case!”
The performance will take place at The Miner’s Theatre, Ammanford from Thursday, June 15 until Saturday, June 17.
Tickets are available at https://www.theatrausirgar.co.uk/en/shows/disorganised-crime or from Ammanford Library and the theatre box office.
