A FREE festival will take place in Swansea this weekend.
Gŵyl Tawe festival will take place at Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum on Saturday, June 10.
The festival is organised by Menter Iaith Abertawe and will see a number of live performances from Rogue Jones, Gillie, Ani Glass, Hyll, Lloyd x Dom + Don, Los Blancos, MR, Sage Todz, She’s Got Spies, SYBS and The Gentle Good amongst others. There will be a headline set from Adwaith.
The performances will be across the Creative Wales open-air stage and the Gowe College Swansea stage in the museum.
There will also be an interactive theatre show for families which is put on by Familia de la Noche. They will bring Frogs in Bogs to life, following superhero frog plumbers who aim to defeat the evil Toilet Duck and crack a clogging crime.
There will also be a variety of performances from local schools including choirs, dance groups and instrumentalists.
In the museum’s foyer, there will be a number of stalls and activities from the likes of Gower College Swansea, Siop Tŷ Tawe, the Taliesin Arts Centre, the Mission Gallery and Mudiad Meithrin.
There will also be STEM activities and a workshop from artist Rhys Padarn who will teach attendees how to create his iconic Orielodl art.
There will also be opportunities to enjoy story and song sessions from Cymraeg i Blant and taster sessions from Learn Welsh Swansea Bay Region which will take place in the museum’s learning rooms.
Gŵyl Tawe Festival will take place between 10am and 8pm at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea on Saturday, June 10. It is free to attend and delivered in partnership with Museum Wales and with support from Swansea Council, the Arts Council of Wales, Gower College Swansea and Welsh Government via Creative Wales.
