THESE four defendants have appeared in court recently for offences in Carmarthenshire.
The defendants all faced motoring offences - including drink and drug driving, and failing to provide a specimen for analysis after their vehicle was pulled over by police.
The cases were heard at Llanelli Magistrates' Court.
STEPHEN FLORENCE, 35, of Park Drive in Skewen, was drink driving on the A48 at Cross Hands.
When stopped on May 20, Florence was breathalysed and recorded 69 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, just under double the legal limit of 35.
He pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on June 8, and was fined £120.
Florence was banned from driving for three years, and must pay £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge.
FERN CARLING, 37, of Clos Tawelan in Carmarthen, refused to take a drugs test having been pulled over by the police.
Carling admitted refusing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test and failing to provide a specimen for analysis – both in Ammanford on August 27 last year.
She was made the subject of a one-year community order, as part of which she must complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
Carling must also pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge, and has been banned from driving for two years.
MARK RUSSELL, 61, of Little Water Street in Carmarthen, was caught driving while high on cannabis.
Russell was behind the wheel on the A40 at Rhosmaen on January 8.
Officers found to the proportion of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) in Russell’s blood was 2.1 microgrammes per litre (µg/L) of blood. The legal limit of 2µg/L.
He pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on June 8.
Russell was banned from driving for a year, was handed a £120 fine, and must pay £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge.
SARAH BOCKMANN, 53, of Garden Suburbs in Trimsaran, Kidwelly, failed to provide a specimen for analysis.
Bockmann was the driver of a vehicle stopped by police in Ammanford on May 18, and was asked to provide a specimen for analysis – which she refused to do.
She pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on June 8, and was made the subject of a one-year community order. As part of this, Bockmann is subject to a curfew from 9pm to 6am for three months, and must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
She must also pay £85 in costs and a £114 surcharge, and was banned from driving for two years.
