A MAN has denied his involvement in an “unprovoked” attack on a 12-year-old boy in a park near a rugby club.
South Wales Police were called to the alleged incident at Parc-Y-Weirn, near Cwmgors Rugby Club, at around 6pm on Sunday, January 29.
Lindsey Sweeney, neighbourhood inspector at South Wales Police, said: “This apparently unprovoked attack has left a 12-year-old boy in a state of shock.”

Two men – 36-year-old Nathan Nordhoff and 29-year-old David Williams – and two boys – aged 16 and 13 – were arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
Nordhoff, from Gwaun Cae Gurwen, denied a charge of assault by beating and one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appeared at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 12.
Nordhoff will now appear at Swansea Crown Court on August 11.
Williams, from Tairgwaith, was found not guilty of assault by beating after the prosecution offered no evidence.
The teenagers had been charged with assault, and also appeared in court on July 12.
Their cases were adjourned until September 6 at Swansea Magistrates’ Court for further case management.
