SOME of Carmarthenshire’s best boys and girls were on show in the Towy Valley on the weekend.
A charity dog show was held at Llangadog’s Glanbran Fields on Sunday, July 9 to raise money for Lluest Horse and Pony Trust.
There were two sets of classes that dog owners could enter their beloved pets in – the pedigree classes and the novelty classes.
The pedigree classes were held under Kennel Club regulations.
In the pedigree classes, there were a number of categories including Any Variety Puppy (six-12 months), Any Variety Terrier, Any Variety Hound, Any Variety Gundog, Any Variety Pastoral, Any Variety Toy, Any Variety Working, Any Variety Open, and Best in Show (Pedigree Class).
In the novelty classes, there were a number of categories including Best Crossbreed, Best Rescue, Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Happiest Puppy (four-12 months), Best Child Handler (up to age 14), Fancy Dress, Dog Most Like its Owner, The Waggiest Tail, and Judges Favourite.
The classes were judged by Jenny Childs.
Ammanford’s Sharon Carter’s Border Collie Jilly won Best in Show. James Ellis from Cross Hands was named Best Child Handler 2for his work with Lurcher Jed. Dog Ginny won the Fancy Dress class, with her French outfit.
