TWO CARMARTHENSHIRE landmarks have been named as one of the most Instagrammable public gardens in Wales.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales in Llanarthne ranks in at number two of the most Instagrammable public gardens in Wales according to research by Idealo.
The price comparison website found that the National Botanic Gardens of Wales was hashtagged on the social media platform 7,190 times, coming in behind Conwy’s Bodnant Garden with 8,611. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales is also searched on average 8,100 times a month on Google.
The gardens has more than 500 acres with plenty to see including parklands, a nature reserve, a Gruffalo trail, British birds of prey centre, a glasshouse with some of the most endangered plants from across the world and plenty of wildlife.
Also ranked in the top five is Aberglasney Gardens in Llangathen, which takes the fifth spot with 3,947 hashtags and 1,600 Google searches a month on average.
The gardens has 10 acres which has been stunningly restored and has the only surviving Elizabethan cloister garden in the UK. There are more than 20 different styles of gardens, a grade II listed mansion, tearooms and plenty of plants and wildlife on offer.
The National Botanic Gardens of Wales ranked in 22nd place in the overall UK list of the most Instagrammable gardens.
Idealo took the Instagram hashtag data for each garden and used Google Keyword Planner to find the monthly search between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.
