THREE people from the Amman and Gwendraeth Valleys and Pontarddulais were recently in court for drink and drug driving.
Benjamin Arundel, 19, of Llandeilo Road, Gorslas, admitted drink driving at Llanelli Magistrates Court on July 27.
He admitted that on July 9, he drove a BMW on Coracle Way, Carmarthen, when over the drink drive limit with a breath alcohol level of 68 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
He was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £120 fine, £48 surcharge and £85 costs.
Richard Thomas, 43, of Bryncethin Road, Garnant, admitted two drug driving charges at Llanelli Magistrates Court on August 3.
Both charges relate to April 8, 2023, when he drove a BMW 3 series on Pantyffynnon Road, Ammanford, whilst under the influence of drugs.
The first charge related to having 72 micrograms of cocaine in his blood, when the legal limit is 10 micrograms.
The second charge related to having 800 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine in his blood, when the legal limit is 50 micrograms, making him 16 times over the limit.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £120 fine and £85 costs.
Sami Magor, 38, of Heol y Maes, Pontarddulais, admitted drug driving at Llanelli Magistrates Court on August 3.
Magor admitted being behind the wheel of a Land Rover Discovery on Carmarthen Road, Fforest, on February 6 with 294 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine in the blood. The legal limit is 50 micrograms.
Magor was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £350 fine, £140 surcharge and £85 costs.
