A WOMAN who ran an unlicensed puppy breeding operation from a property at Cross Hands is alleged to have made £31,000.

Kristina Barton, 28, of Heol Dinefwr in Cross Hands, had previously admitted three charges under the Animal Welfare Act.

She admitted to the unlicensed breeding of dogs between May 25, 2021, and September 12 last year. The charges related to at least three breeding dogs being kept at the premises and at least three litters being born within that period.

Her case was brought back before Swansea Crown Court, where it was agreed that her sentencing will take place on September 11.  

Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings are ongoing, and prosecutor Alexander Greenwood said that it is alleged that Barton profited to the sum of £31,000 from illegal puppy sales.
