A CELEBRATION of one of the greatest Motown bands will be coming to Cardiff next year.

Just My Imagination pays homage to the ‘Classic Five’ era of The Temptations, when the group was made up of David Ruffin, Otis Williams, Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin and Paul Williams and had their first hit with The Way You Do the Things You Do.

The show, which features a cast of West End performers, will bring hits such as Get Ready, My Girl, Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone and Just My Imagination to life and is inspired by the hit Broadway show Ain’t Too Proud, which earned a huge 12 Tony nominations in 2019.

Mark Halliday, show producer, said: “By packing in all The Temptations’ million-selling hits, Just My Imagination is a real feel-good treat for theatregoers.

“The Temptations are named as the No 1 band in the history of rhythm and blues by Billboard Magazine for good reason. Our job is to ensure that this production truly does justice to their incredible repertoire.”
