THESE four Carmarthenshire residents have been convicted of racially aggravated offences in the past six months.
The defendants were accused of racially abusing passengers on a plane, displaying a racist sign or writing, racially abusing a police officer, and racially abusing another man.
Their cases were heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court and Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.

Here’s a round-up of their cases.
KEVIN DAVIES, 37, of Derwen Road in Tumble, admitted displaying a racist sign or writing.
Davies was drunk and disorderly on Stepney Street in Llanelli on May 20, and suspecting he had drugs on him, officers searched him under their stop and search powers.
He was found to have cannabis on him, as well as a lock knife.
Davies was taken to Ammanford Police Station, but urinated in the police vehicle.
He also admitted displaying racially aggravated harassment causing alarm or distress through writing on May 21.
Davies had pleaded guilty on May 22 to possession of cannabis, as well as criminal damage – relating to the urination – and racially aggravated harassment, but initially denied the knife offence.
But earlier this month, Davies also admitted the knife charge. He was due to be sentenced for this on September 29.
Davies was fined a total of £120 for the criminal damage and possession of the cannabis, and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £96 surcharge.
He was also fined an additional £120 for the racially aggravated offence.
RYAN DAVIES, 19, of Heol Spurrell in Carmarthen, directed racial abuse towards a police officer.
Davies admitted affray on Queen Street in Carmarthen on September 2, and criminal damage relating to him damaging a police vehicle.
He also admitted racially aggravated intentional harassment causing alarm or distress against a police officer.
At Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on September 4, Davies was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for a year, for the affray. As part of this, he was made subject to a curfew for four months between 7.30pm and 7.30am. He was also ordered to pay £150 compensation for the criminal damage, and £85 in costs.
For the racially aggravated offence, he was sentenced to 10 weeks, suspended for a year, running concurrently.
KHURRAM SHAHZAD, 46, of Hendre Park in Llangennech, was ordered to pay almost £8,000 after he was found guilty of racially abusing two people on an aeroplane.
Shahzad was travelling on a British Airways flight from Singapore on March 4 and was accused of racially abusing two people.
He pleaded not guilty on March 10 to causing racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence using words and of racially aggravated intentional harassment causing alarm or distress.
He was found guilty on August 21.
At Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 8, Shahzad was ordered to pay £300 in compensation to each victim, and was fined a total of £5,500. He must also pay £625 in costs and a £1,200 surcharge.
BARRY DAVIES, 43, of Chapman Street in Llanelli, was fined for a racially aggravated offence in Carmarthenshire.
Davies was charged with using racially aggravated words or behaviour intention of causing harassment, alarm or distress to a man in Llanelli on January 10.
He pleaded guilty, and was fined £200 on May 17 at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court. Davies must also pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £80.
