A FOOTPATH in the Amman Valley will remain closed for at least another six months due to danger from a building.
Carmarthenshire County Council has put an order in place to close a footpath in Glanaman because of the likelihood of danger caused by an unstable structure at Old Bethel Chapel.
It means that footpath 44/71 from Heol Felen heading northwest past the churchyard to the junction with footpath 44/70 for a total of 149m is closed to the public.
The order is valid for six months, however, the path has been closed since March 28, 2022, when work was to be carried out on the listed building, with further continuation orders being put in place by the council.
There is an alternative route to use which is from the junction with footpath 44/70 heading southeast through the churchyard/cemetery until joining Heol Felen, for a total length of 152m.
