SUPPORT for residents across Carmarthenshire during the cost-of-living crisis has been expanded.
The council is now including cost of living support relating to residents registering births and deaths in the county to allow easy access to all that residents who have suffered a change of circumstance -whether a growing family or the death of a loved one – may need. The information will now be including within the birth and death registration pack that is handed out by the registrar service.
The new support compliments the existing cost of living support that is available to all residents at the customer service hwbs in Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli, as well as online or over the phone.
The hwb advisors and money advice officers can also provide tailored packages of support depending on an individual’s circumstances.
The Hwb Bach y Wlad service provides support to rural areas such as Llandeilo, Llandovery, Cross Hands, Cwmaman, Laugharne, St Clears, Whitland, Newcastle Emlyn, Llanybydder and Kidwelly.
The council’s deputy leader, Cllr Linda Evans, said: “I’m delighted that we are continuing to expand on the range of support we offer to help residents with the cost of living, with many people experiencing tremendous changes to their circumstances when using our registrar’s service to register a birth or death.
“I would encourage anyone who is not sure of what they may be entitled to or who may be in need of support to contact our friendly advisors. There is a huge range of help and support out there for those who need it including single person council tax discounts if you’re the only adult in the home, blue badges, food bank referrals, childcare disability support payments and much more.
“Please reach out if you need support. We are here to help.”
