THERE are plans for water to be extracted from various points under Ammanford.
Mott MacDonald Bentley Limited has applied to Natural Resources Wales for a full licence to ‘abstract water’ from the Granular Superficial Deposits groundwater body in three areas in the Ammanford area.
The areas that are included in the application for area one is between National Grid references SN62116 09852, SN62317 09852, SN62138 09829 and SN62114 09830.
Area two is between National Grid references SN62164 09849, SN62165 09828, SN62138 09829 and SN62141 09851.
Area three is between National Grid references SN62029 09877, SN62041 00927, SN62061 09927 and SN62048 09875.
The areas are around Garnswllt Wastewater Treatment Works.
The plan is to abstract 441.55 cubic metres of water an hour, 10,597.2 cubic metres a day, and 1,922,302.8 cubic metres in total for the dewatering construction works between January 31, 2024, and March 31, 2025.
