A DRINK driver who was caught on Christmas Day was among the defendants who had their cases heard in court recently.
The driver was caught over the limit in Ammanford on December 25, while other drivers were also caught getting behind the wheel Cross Hands and also in Ammanford while intoxicated in early January.
Each of these cases were heard in Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 23.

Here’s a round-up of the cases.
DAVID JONES, 46, of Colonel Road in Betws, has been banned from driving after being caught drink driving on Christmas Day.
Jones was driving a Volkswagen Golf on the A483 Llandybie Road in Ammanford on December 25. When breathalysed, he recorded having 66 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35.
He pleaded guilty to drink driving at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 23, and was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Jones was fined £200, and was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a surcharge of £80.
TOMOS WOOD, 23, of Pontardulais Road in Cross Hands, has been fined £425 after being caught drink driving.
Wood was alleged to have been driving a BMW on Heol Blaenhirwaun in Cross Hands on January 4. When breathalysed, he recorded having 56 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
He pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 23, and was banned from driving for 14 months.
As well as the fine, Wood was ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £170 surcharge.
BENJAMIN GOYMER, 21, of Maes Y Glyn in Lower Brynamman, was caught over the limit while behind the wheel in Ammanford.
Goymer was driving a Skoda Fabia on Station Road on January 6. When breathalysed, he recorded having 56 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
He pleaded guilty, and was fined £276 at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on January 23.
Goymer was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £110 surcharge, and was disqualified from driving for 15 months.
