An Ammanford choir is saying goodbye with a special exhibition celebrating a century of music.
The Ammanford and District Choral Society, established in 1917, is the subject of the exhibition 'A Century of Song', opening to the public from March 23 until April 5.
The choir members decided in September 2022 to end the choir after more than a hundred years of generating music.
The exhibition, curated by choir member Sian Thomas, includes a myriad of preserved photographs, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia portraying the choir's legacy since its formation.
Sian Thomas' collection of the choir's history has now been digitalised by Carmarthenshire Archives staff for the exhibition.
Sian Thomas said: "The exhibition is a way to say THANK YOU to the generation before us who started the choir, in what must have been the hardest of times.
"To persevere with their commitment to the choir and to each other; of valued friendships made along the way and for those who came together to experience the sheer joy of choral singing."
Assisted by several Carmarthenshire County Council services, Carmarthenshire Archives, Theatrau Sir Gâr and Carmarthenshire Library Service, the cherished display also received funding from the Explore Your Archives Campaign.
