Community groups throughout Carmarthenshire have been invited to an event focusing on the circular economy on March 14, 2024.
The event is a collaboration with the Sero Climate and Environment Centre based in Carmarthen.
The day's proceedings will include a showcase of Sero's existing array of sustainable facilities and projects.
Community groups attending the event will have the chance to delve into the approaches and strategies that underpin each initiative.
Talks will also highlight funding opportunities available to viable circular economy prospects in the region, such as the "seed corn funding."
This funding is exclusively available for circular economy projects within the Ten Towns and can provide each project with up to £5,000.
The main aim of this fund is to encourage innovation and sustainability within the local community.
Following the presentations, there will be a Q&A session, giving attendees a chance to participate in meaningful discussions concerning their bid proposals and the sustainability cause.
They'll also have the opportunity to connect with Sero officials and engage in informative conversations regarding their ongoing work.
Highlighting the significance of this, cabinet member for climate change, decarbonisation and sustainability, Cllr. Aled Vaughan Owen said: "In the journey toward a circular economy, we must recognise the power of community engagement.
"As we host the Ten Towns Circular Economy Event in collaboration with the Sero Climate and Environment Centre, we are not just showcasing projects; we are fostering a collective vision for sustainable living."
Supporting local communities in their transition towards a sustainable future is the main theme of the event.
The organisers hope that by bringing together different community groups, the mission towards environmental sustainability and local resilience can be shared and strengthened.
The SPF funded event is set to run from 10am till midday at the Sero Climate and Environment Centre in Carmarthen.
