The 2024 Trap Show charity fun run will take place later this month.
The 344th Trap Show Charity Fun Run, is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, kicking off from the Cennen Arms, Trap at 11am.
The Towy Valley event has drawn runners from South and West Wales, including athletes who have represented Wales, Britain and the Commonwealth such as Dewi Griffiths, Andres Jones, Steve Brace, and Josh Griffiths.
Dewi Griffiths is the open course record holder.
It's not just for athletes, though: occasional runners, walkers and participants of all ages are welcome.
The fun run is sponsored by patronage from Carmarthenshire firms including Brecon Carreg, Gelli Plant, SJ Griffiths & Son, and Morgan Marine Ltd.
These companies have extended their support by offering attractive prizes for all categories and T-shirts for all finishers.
The Dyffryn Cennen Community Council will also present up to 300 medals to participants.
The event includes two categories of race, with the open race being 4.7 miles long, whilst the Juniors and Walkers route stretches over 2.8 miles.
Last year, the fun run managed to raise a significant amount of money for two charities: Crohn’s and Colitis UK and the Dinefwr Riding for the Disabled Association.
Participants this year will be supporting Trap Agriculture Show and Cancer Research Wales, with half of the proceeds going to each.
As the day of the run draws closer, participants are encouraged to dust off their running shoes and get ready to join in the fun.
Not only is it for a good cause, but it's an excellent opportunity to be part of a warm, friendly community atmosphere.
Everyone is invited to the event, offering an opportunity for both experienced club runners and occasional fun-runners to engage in a day of sport, camaraderie, and general good-spirited event.
Whether you run or walk, bringing the youngest or the oldest participant along, the Trap Fun Run promises a rewarding experience for all.
