A Llandeilo financial advisor has won a prestigious award.
Stephanie Jones, from Red Dot, was named as a finalist in this year’s Women in Health and Protection Awards.
The announcement came at an event in London on May 2, 2024, where Ms Jones was also awarded the Educator of the Year prize.
She received this honour for her work on Red Dot’s new Financial Education Programme.
This initiative, which is free, provides schools, pupils, and parents with tools that can help the next generation learn about money, life skills, and the world of work.
Speaking at the event, Ms Jones shared her pride at Red Dot being "the only Welsh firm recognised among the leading firms in the finance industry."
The programme includes resources, activities, games, worksheets, and more - all mapped to the curriculum.
With materials in both English and Welsh, it aims to give schools a wide range of teaching aides that can assist financial education.
In addition to recognising individuals, the COVER Women in Health and Protection Awards 2024 also celebrate the leading women within the life, protection and health insurance industry.
From role models to mentors, and diversity champions to trailblazing leaders, the awards provide a platform to commend those working tirelessly to level the playing field in the finance and health protection sector.
Despite ongoing efforts, the industry remains largely male-dominated, while women are often under-protected financially in wider society.
These awards demonstrate a commitment to celebrating the people who are driving industry diversity and improving access to insurance for women and their families.
On May 2, 2024, the winners of the COVER Women in Health and Protection Awards 2024 were revealed.
Chosen by a panel of expert judges, all winners displayed excellence within their respective fields.
The Educator of the Year award specifically recognises women in the protection, life, and health industry who are raising standards of education and knowledge.
From resources and mentorships, to videos and social media campaigns, these award winners have demonstrated their commitment to improving access to knowledge for participants within the industry.
Hosted by comedian Zoe Lyons, the awards evening was a celebration of the amazing women changing the face of the industry.
More details about the Awards, winners and their work can be found on the official event website.
