The Jobcentre teams are continuing to assist Carmarthenshire's diverse range of employers and jobseekers.

In early May, the NHS Future Workforce Team visited Ammanford, Carmarthen and Llanelli Jobcentres.

They delivered bespoke presentations to claimants, shedding light on potential job opportunities within the Hywel Dda UHB NHS sites across the county.

The sites include hospitals, pharmacies, and GP surgeries.

The NHS staff clarified the different roles currently available and explained how to meticulously structure applications to improve their chances of securing an interview.

Furthermore, they outlined the perks of working for the NHS.

The discussion also included volunteering opportunities and work experience within different departments.

Gaining unpaid experience initially may yield a pathway towards a long-standing career within the NHS.

Coleg Sir Gar, in cooperation with Communities for Work+, visited Llanelli Jobcentre on April 16 and 30.

They touched upon the Skills 2024 project, a scheme aimed at individuals seeking guidance on any type of training or career.

Attendees received insights on various sectors such as catering and hospitality, and more.

The possibilities of acquiring relevant qualifications to boost their CVs and to stand out during an interview were illustrated comprehensively.

Throughout April and early May, support for teaching agencies has been offered, complete with on-site recruitment drives.

With the demand for care worker roles in the county's care companies increasing, the Jobcentre is also organising interviews for these positions.

Turning their attention to Carmarthen Jobcentre, staff are fortifying their collaboration with hospitality, retail and care sectors seeking new recruits.

Fred Hatton of the DWP Employer and Partnership team said: "Our Work Coaches say the best part of their job is seeing someone succeed in their employment goals.

"Giving people extra time and tailored support so they get the extra help needed to overcome barriers can make a huge difference to someone’s life."

Despite national vacancies experiencing a dip this month, there are still numerous job opportunities surfacing across the UK, exceeding those advertised pre-pandemic.

Jobseekers are encouraged to utilise the DWP 'FindaJob' website, offering an expansive range of jobs.
