AN AMMANFORD man has denied attacking and strangling his now former partner.

Dale Ginn, 34, of New Road, appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with two offences.

Ginn was alleged to have assaulted a woman by beating her at an address in Ammanford on October 1, whilst also being accused of intentionally strangling her.

He denied the charges of battery and strangulation.

Prosecutor Brian Simpson said the complainant had made a statement saying that “her breathing was restricted for five to ten seconds” and a red mark had been caused.

Judge Geraint Walters declined to set a date for trial, instead ordering Ginn to return to court in a week’s time to allow the Crown Prosecution Service time to consider whether a trial would still be sought if there is a guilty plea to the battery offence.

Ginn was re-admitted to bail ahead of next Wednesday’s hearing.
