A Carmarthenshire re-use centre will be extending its opening hours.

Canolfan Eto based at Nantycaws Recycling Centre has increased its operation from Wednesdays to Sundays, 10am until 4pm.

The expansion in hours offers residents more flexibility to engage in activities of repair, re-use, and re-purposing.

Products repaired and re-used are available for purchase at the centre or online.

Plus, residents are encouraged to donate items at the county's household waste recycling centres (HWRCs). Canolfan Eto handles various items such as wood, garden gear, bicycles, electronics, furniture, clothing, toys, amongst others, gathered at collection points positioned in all four HWRCs in the county.

The project, set up by Carmarthenshire County Council and CWM Environmental, aims to model a circular economy in Carmarthenshire.

It is currently funded by the Welsh Government Circular Economy Fund.

Aled Vaughan Owen, Carmarthenshire County Council's cabinet member for climate change, decarbonisation and sustainability announced: "As cabinet member for climate change, decarbonisation, and sustainability, I am thrilled to announce the extended opening hours of Canolfan Eto re-use centre.

"This initiative not only makes it more convenient for our residents to engage in sustainable practices but also strengthens our commitment to a circular economy in Carmarthenshire.

"By encouraging repair, re-use, and re-purposing of items, we are taking significant steps towards reducing waste and protecting our environment.

"I invite everyone to visit Canolfan Eto, whether to purchase quality refurbished items or to contribute by donating items they no longer need."
