A PONTARDAWE man has denied fracturing his neighbour’s eye socket and nose in a row over parking.
Mathew Jones, 38, appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and an alternative offence of inflicting GBH.
It was alleged that he assaulted another man on May 2.
Jones, whose given address to the court was Heol Phillip in Alltwen, pleaded not guilty to each offence.

“There was a long-standing issue between the parties,” prosecutor Ian Wright said. “Mr Jones having a problem with the complainant…who is considerably older than he is.
“There were some words exchanged about parking.”
Mr Wright alleged that Jones approached the complainant and punched him “at least five times” as he strangled him.
He said the complainant sustained a fractured eye socket, a fractured nose, and a “significant wound above the nose requiring 17 stitches”.
“The defendant denies his presence entirely,” Mr Evans said, defending.
Judge Paul Thomas KC set a trial date of October 23. Jones was re-admitted to bail.
