A special event will be held by Cwmaman Town Council as part of Volunteer Week celebrations.

The event, jointly led by Connecting Carmarthenshire, CAVS, POBL, and the council's Community Fridays project, aims to thank current volunteers and encourage others to get involved.

The event, scheduled for Friday, June 7 from 10am to 2pm at the Cwmaman Community Centre, will include more than 20 stalls showcasing a variety of volunteering roles in different organisations.

Volunteers from Cwm Environmental will be showing off their skills in repairing lawnmowers and bicycles, crafting furniture, and even selling pre-owned quality items.

Participants looking to sharpen their arithmetic skills can join Multiply- Confidence With Numbers for a demo on how to make a game in the board room from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Also, do not miss out on a free low-intensity chair exercise class given by Steve Davies from ABSalute from 1pm to 1.45pm in Workshop 2.

There is also a chance to learn straw-crafting with Hannah Cantwell of Hiraeth y Goedwig.

Apart from this, illustrator and storyteller Scott Artus will be offering individual cartoon masterclasses throughout the event.

If you're in the mood for some relaxation, the Old Mill Foundation will provide a taste of various alternative therapies and treatments.

Health-conscious folk can also check in with the Actif Sport team for a health MOT.

The event will provide attendees an opportunity to meet representatives from various organisations like Alzheimer's Society, RNID and Stroke Association among others, all of whom are actively seeking volunteers.

So, if you are keen to give back to the community while learning new skills, be sure to mark your calendars.

The Cwmaman Town Council and Community Fridays team are eagerly awaiting your participation to celebrate our volunteers and inspire others to make a positive impact in Cwmaman.
