A special concert was held in Llandeilo to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

Yr Hen Farchnad Llandeilo hosted the event, organised by the Royal British Legion Llandeilo.

The event featured performances from Llandeilo Town Band, led by Loisa McGee, and a number of local artists organised by Llwyfan Llandeilo.

Three pupils from Ysgol Bro Dinefwr, relatives Elizabeth, Mollie, and Annie Edwards, contributed solo and group songs.

A touching moment was the playback of Lan Lashley's father's 1986 recording recalling his D-Day experiences.

The evening was presided over by Eirian Davies, headteacher of Ysgol Bro Dinefwr.

Chairman of Llandeilo RBL, Edward Thomas, said: "Over 80 people enjoyed an evening of songs, readings and I want to thank all who supported it, making it a special night to commemorate the bravery of all who fought to keep us free."
