THESE seven candidates are standing in Llanelli at the 2024 general election.
Voters will be going to the polls on Thursday, July 4 after prime minister Rishi Sunak announced an early election three weeks ago.
Constituency changes following a Westminster vote mean that the number of Welsh MPs will be cut from 40 to 32; with each constituency containing between 69,724 and 77,062 voters, with the exception of Ynys Mon.
The constituency of Llanelli has been expanded under the boundary changes to include an area of the Carmarthen East and Dinefwr constituency.
Labour’s Nia Griffith has been the MP for Llanelli since 2005, and will be standing for re-election on July 4.

- Gareth Beer – Reform UK
- Rhodri Davies – Plaid Cymru - The Party of Wales
- Charlie Evans – Conservative and Unionist Party
- Nia Griffith – Labour Party
- Karen Laurence – Green Party
- Chris Passmore – Liberal Democrats
- Stan Robinson – UK Independence Party (UKIP)
A YouGov MRP projection, based on opinion polling between June 11 to 18, has predicted Labour to hold the seat with 30 per cent of the vote. Plaid Cymru are predicted to receive 23 per cent of the vote, followed by Reform UK (22 per cent).
The poll forecasts 10 per cent of vote going to the Conservatives, followed by the Green Party (six per cent), ‘Other’ (five per cent), and the Liberal Democrats (four per cent).
